Wearable Musical Instrument: Gourd Drum Necklace

This tiny drum is a wearable musical instrument made from a naturally-grown miniature gourd. The drum head is organic rawhide, wet and stretched over the carefully-fashioned, decorated gourd in the style used in native cultures for centuries, using large gourds. I'm pleased with the drumming sound from this little gem. The head is stretched with natural hemp cord, which also forms the cord for the necklace. The cord can be shortened for use as an ornament.
Decoration is in American Southwest style, displaying a pictograph of a horse and buffalo, typical of the art of equine artist Ruella Yates. The art is sealed in matte finish. Vintage artisan-crafted wood beads accent the drum.
The drum is 2.5" long and 2" wide/deep.
